Previously, enhancing BBEdit's built-in syntax coloring and function navigation has required the use of a compiler to write code. css you get all of the css code hinting (HomeSite does NOT have that, usually have to switch to TopStlye Lite for code hinting on windows).Īll in all for HTML/PHP/ColdFusion/CSS I think I have found my new App, and its only $20.Ĭodeless language modules offer readily extensible syntax coloring support. It supports CSS, although i found it odd that you can't just create a new CSS file, it opens a new file assuming it will be html, but if you clear out the default html generated and save as. Though I still haven't used skEdit that much, so I could be off on this. I again suggest looking into skEdit, while it does have site management stuff, it isn't necessary for most of the features. I didn't mean to suggest that TopStyle Pro would be a replacement for BBEdit, more meant to suggest that I wish there was an app for OS X that was like TopStyle. However the limit is no inline spellchecking. (This is the older version - I've not upgraded to CS) I ended up using BBEdit for most of my editing. But I came up against its limits (especially Apache includes and certain bugs in its templates). I have Adobe's GoLive and use it frequently. I confess I really want a lightweight HTML editor with css support that isn't a full site editor. Kind of odd to suggest as a replacement for BBEdit. I went and checked out TopStyle but it is PC only.
